What is Gel Printing?

Gel printing is a printmaking technique where paint is applied to a soft, squishy gel plate, layered with textures, stencils, or found objects, and then lifted onto paper or fabric to create one-of-a-kind, layered prints.

For kids, it's a wonderfully sensory way to explore colour mixing, texture, and layering, while building fine motor skills and confidence, since there's no "wrong" way to do it and every pull is a happy surprise.

For adults, it's a relaxing, almost playful process that invites you to let go of precision, embracing texture, colour, and spontaneity instead of careful planning.

And the best part ? No two prints are ever exactly alike : each pull from the plate is a unique monoprint, perfect for art to frame, cards to share, or even to layer into a mixed-media journal.

Each student goes home with a whole collection of prints and experiment.
